Today the children in Year 5 had the privilege of visiting the Houses of Parliament. After an amazing tour of many areas within the palace, including the House of Lords and the House of Commons, they participated in a debate. Through this activity they learnt how the democratic system works and the steps that have to be taken and by whom in order for a law to be passed in the United Kingdom.
Year 5 had a wonderfully inspiring day immersed in history, architecture whilst recognising the Palace’s role in politics today.
