Year 6 learned so much during their Coding Workshop with Miss Evans from 3BM today.
We used J2code and wrote procedures to draw simple shapes. We learned many different commands, as well as how to rectify our mistakes. We practiced drawing squares, rectangles, hexagons and even octagons! Then, we experimented with other shapes we could create using the same commands.
By the end we could build a procedure and save it. We could even recognize which coding language corresponded with each shape. We are so proud of the work we created.
In our next Computing lesson, we are going to start writing procedures to design ‘blocks of flats’ in one go. We can’t wait to get started!
i really enjoyed the computing lesson. I learnt so many things about coding I am definitely going to do it at home. Thank you to miss Evans for teaching us in computing.

This Coding Workshop was really fun as we developed our code to using variables and using repeat to make our codes shorter. Thank you Miss Evans and Miss Siswick for helping us! I am also looking forward to trying out more codes at home!
I really liked this workshop. It was fun and quite easy and (for me) easy to get my head around. I would love to do this sort of lesson again.
