Throughout the season of Lent we follow the 3 special pillars of praying, fasting and giving.
Families at St. Vincent’s will receive the Lent prayer bag, to come together at home to remember the Easter story, and spend time reflecting on Jesus’ sacrifice for us on Good Friday before his joyful resurrection on Easter Sunday.
The prayer bags help us to focus our minds on the days leading up to Easter and help us to remember the promises we made on Ash Wednesday.
All the contents are stored inside a zipped bag. Please ensure everything goes back into the back so nothing gets lost as these bags travel from home to home. Inside your bag you will find:
- Easter Story
- Purple cloth
- A cross
- Velvet bag containing candles and pebbles
- Lent Prayer Bag guide
If you wish to listen to worship songs whilst using the Lent bags, there are many we share within school from the Mark 10 Mission. A religious site that shares weekly Bible stories and messages that follow the Liturgical year, that is loved across the whole school.
Please share photos of your prayer time at home, using the Lent bag and sharing the contents with your family. We hope to see lots of families sharing this important time together as we prepare for Easter. If you wish to share photos, please email them to the school office, so Mrs Walsh can share them here. We hope you enjoy seeing them.
