Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 31 October, new national restrictions will come into force today until 2nd December. The Department for Education has published information on what the new national restrictions mean for education and childcare settings Click here to read more

We are really pleased that the school will stay open and we thoroughly enjoy welcoming our pupils to school every day.  However there will need to be some changes to the arrangements for  bringing children to school and collecting them. These have been included in our updated Risk Assessment and are detailed below. We have also been asked by Westminster Council to share the above video with parents and carers. Public Health Colleagues have been working with local lollipop lady, Miss Victoria, to remind pupils, parents and carers of the steps we all need to take to stay safe.

Childcare Bubbles

Parents will still be able to access some registered childcare and other childcare activities (including wraparound care) where reasonably necessary to enable parents to work, or for the purposes of respite care. Parents are able to form a childcare bubble with another household for the purposes of informal childcare, where the child is 13 or under. Some households will also be able to benefit from being in a support bubble, which allows single adult households to join another household.

This means only one other family can collect your children from school, and only if they have been designated as your support bubble. New collection forms will be sent home to clarify who this is for your family.

Visitors

The school is now only allowed to welcome absolutely essential visitors into the premises. This means that almost all communication must be carried out by email or on the telephone. Appointments outside of school during the day will not be authorised as we need to restrict movement around the building and honour the lockdown restrictions  even though the school remains open.

Hands. Face. Space

The most important thing we can all do to prevent the spread of the virus is to remember the basics, Hands. Face. Space:

  • Wash your hands, regularly and for at least 20 seconds, or if you can’t, use hand sanitiser
  • Stay at least two metres away from people outside your household or bubble
  • Wear a face covering in shops and supermarkets, on public transport and when in other indoor spaces where keeping at least two metres apart from others isn’t possible. This includes adults collecting or dropping off pupils at school, as social distancing cannot be maintained. This means parents and carers should wear face masks when dropping off and collecting children.

Thank you for all your support to keep our school family safe.
