Year 6 have been learning how to use Scratch to make their own game.
First, we looked at games that didn’t work properly and learnt how to spot the errors and debug them. Then we planned our own games with the following criteria:
Your game should have
- A player controlled character (eg a car)
- Enemies to avoid
- Items to collect
- A score
It could have
- 2nd player
- Timer
- Multiple levels
- Increasing difficulty
- Start screen
- Game over screen
- You win screen
Today we then made our own games. Year 6 were very creative in their game ideas and very logical when creating them in Scratch. Well done Year 6, it will be fun to play each other’s games to see what everyone created.
I liked it so much and creating a game was really fun, I hope we can do it again .
I really enjoyed making my game from the app scratch as it was really fun and entertaining.Thank you to all the teachers who taught us about all the algorithms that we need to make our game and thank you for giving us the opportunity to make our own game.
I am really enjoying our ICT lessons on scratch and I’ve learnt a lot more about coding from scratch, I enjoyed changing my game so that all the objects you had to collect moved around so it was harder and I made it a sea theme which was very fun! Thank you to Miss Carruthers for helping us with this and teaching us!
