We have had a great day in Year 2, with lots of creative activities (which are our favourite)!
As we have been learning about the story of the Nativity, we recently retold the story, focusing on the journey that Mary and Joseph had. From the Gospel of Luke, we found out that the Roman Emperor, Caesar Augustus, called for a census which meant that Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem. It was here, after a 70 mile journey that the baby Jesus was born. Today we decorated a stable and made silhouettes of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. We used lots of colourful tissue paper to recreate a stained-glass window effect.
After this, the whole school came together to watch the Dip and Dab Christmas Remix. This was such a fun show, with lots of music, singing and games. We even got Miss Forster Adams up to do a dance! She was mortified but we loved it. At the end of the show, we joined in with a Christmas conga, which had lots of actions to follow along with.
We also watched a Draw with Rob episode where we learned how to draw Father Christmas’ sleigh which we then used to decorate our own Christmas cards. We had some Christmas dance videos that we could join in with too, but lots of us wanted to colour and draw! We are such a talented class and really love any opportunity to draw, so we really enjoyed our day today.
We handed out any Christmas cards and wished each other a Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all, we hope that you have a lovely Christmas break with your families.
Miss Forster Adams, Mrs Vieria, Miss Hector and Mrs O’Neill would like to thank you all much for your thoughtful Christmas gifts and well wishes, we really and truly appreciate it, along with your continued support.
