We had a fantastic day at the October Gallery learning all about abstract art influenced by Santos Motoapohua de la Torre, Jordan Ann Craig, Gonzalo Hernandez Carrillo and Antonio López Pinedo. The current exhibition at the gallery explores patterns, forms and insights from cultures historically originating from the southern part of the mountain chain, Cordillera, along the western side of the Americas, from northern New Mexico down to Guadalajara, Mexico. We were inspired to create our own abstract art with the help of the female artist Jaimini Patel. We learnt that art doesn’t always have to mean something and not everything in art has to represent or symbolise something. That is the beauty of art!
Thank you to the parents who came with us on this wonderful trip. The exhibition finishes on 1st February 2020 and we really recommend you go and see it if you haven’t!
