On Monday we had a very fun maths lesson focusing on recognising numerals 1-5 and ordering numbers from 1 all the way to 20. To make our ‘Under the Sea’ topic cross-curricular we created a shark scene. First the children counted all the animals on the carpet, then they were given a number. When I called their number out they had to jump to the other side of the shore to stop the greedy shark catching them!
During our activity time, the children individually recognised and ordered the numbers!
