On Tuesday, the Nursery went on their very first school trip! We had fabulous day at the London Aquarium. We travelled there on the top deck of the bus and had a great time spotting landmarks such as Big Ben and the London Eye on the way. At the Aquarium we took part in a workshop where we learned more about different sea creatures. We saw every creature that we could imagine including seahorses, sharks, jelly fish, clown fish, rays, turtles, penguins and even a scary crocodile! Well done to all of the children for their excellent behaviour. Thank you so much to the parents who came with us and helped to make the trip such a success.
We enjoyed our visit so much that we decided to make our own aquariums using recycled materials. We used old boxes and painted the inside blue for the water. Then we sprinkled real sand on the bottom to create the sea bed. Next we chose our favourite pictures of under the sea creatures, from old torn books which would have been thrown away, and hung the on strings. Finally we decorated the outside with the rest of the pages of the books. We are very proud of our aquariums and we like the way that when you shake them it looks like the creatures are swimming!
