Today, Class 3 visited the October Gallery in Holborn. We had a really interesting morning exploring Art with Georgie who led our workshop. We all had the opportunity to explore the current exhibition and think about some of the Art work displayed sharing what we liked about it.
We then had an Art workshop all about the Stone Age and Bronze Age. We started by creating our own cave paintings by using wax to create an invisible pattern and then paint to discover it. We used chalk to explore different shapes using the animal paintings and other Art work around the gallery for inspiration.
As we were lucky enough to have the gallery to ourselves, we were able to lay out all of our art work on the floor and used torches to explore our favourite drawings and patterns in the dark, we felt like we were in a cave!
Finally we made clay pots and used a special copper sheet to create a Bronze effect. We had a really interesting and fun time developing lots of Art skills!
