For our Christmas book, we’ve been reading The Polar Express by Chris van Allsburg. It is such a magical story and many of us have seen the film, but the book has beautiful pictures that we’ve enjoyed looking at.
We created our own story maps to retell the story.
We imagined what it would be like going on thr Polar Express. We drew pictures of the North Pole and wrote a letter to Santa describing what we would ask for ‘the first gift of Christmas’. Then using all the words in the story, we made our own word clouds.
Tomorrow we are writing our own versions of the story and will use all of these lessons to help us come up with an exciting and descriptive story!
