This week, Year 3 have started their new shared reading text of The Piped Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning. It is a narrative poem all about the rats set in a town in Germany.
We have been thinking about our performance skills, the children worked in groups to think about the different ways that they could read a section of the poem to an audience. It was great to see the collaboration and creativity they showed. Some groups varied the lines they each said and some thought about repeating certain words or phrases throughout. Some groups even used actions to show the narrative of the poem.
It was a great way to start our new text and we are looking forward to reading more this half term!
