Year 5 have been having lots of fun in Science exploring properties and changes of materials.
We looked at a variety of foams (such as sponge cake, marshmallow, shaving foam) using magnifying glass and tested which one was the best (insulator) for stopping ice cube melting.
We also carried out an investigation using hot, cold, warm water temperature to attempt to dissolve sugar and see which temperature is fastest. We have been using scientific language to explain our results.
In the coming weeks we will be demonstrating, through investigations, that dissolving, mixing and changes of state are reversible changes.
