Punch and Judy Puppet Shows

Year 1 have been busy in D&T planning, designing and making their own Punch and Judy puppet shows.

We found out lots of facts and interesting information about why Punch and Judy puppet shows were a popular form of entertainment at the seaside in the past.

We looked at important features that make a good Punch and Judy show like humour, interesting characters and props.

The children then planned their story idea using story strips on the computer and thought carefully about their characters and a story problem.

We then designed our puppet shows thinking about materials needed and how the puppets would be made. Finally the children made their puppet shows!

Year 1 enjoyed performing their very own puppet shows during our end of topic celebration.
