In Year 1 this week, we have started our topic on the local church.
We have learnt all about the different Religious features inside the church, such as the pulpit, the cross, the pews, the mass books, the stained glass windows, the altar, the lectern and the font. After learning about them and pointing them out on a picture of St James church we made these different features out of Lego in pairs.
Wealso learnt about the special people we find in church, such as the Priest, altar servers, greeters, readers, cleaners and collectors. To finish our RE learning this week we wrote a poem about the special people in church.
Great work this week Year 1!
I enjoyed this lesson. I made a cross out of lego. My cousin Autumn Lily was baptised on new years eve and they used the water from the font. Im looking forward to learning more about the my local church.
