It is with tremendous sadness that we learned yesterday of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace.
Today in school we came together for a special assembly to celebrate Queen Elizabeth, thinking particularly about her life of service, her special qualities and how she inspires us to be better people and to serve & love others, guided by our faith. We said prayers for her family and Father Philip helped us to understand the special prayers that we say when someone has died.
We thank God for the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
For her service to our country
For her example of dignify and duty.
Comfort her family and guide our country at this sad time.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
Amen.
When we returned to class we reflected more on the life of the Queen and expressed our feelings creatively.

Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period of time for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign.
The official date of the State Funeral is 19 September 2022. This day will be a bank holiday and the school will close on this day as a mark of respect.
Indeed sad news. Beautiful art work in all every year level across the school. She will be missed and this generation will not see another queen reining. God save the King!
