Today in our School Council meeting, we were lucky enough to meet with Eric from Harrison Catering, our school dinner providers. He wanted to hear the opinions of all the children on the school dinners so that he could plan our new school lunch menu for September. As the representatives, we had asked the children in our class what their opinions were, and fed this back to Eric.

We gave lots of ideas, including some of the food we already have that we really like and others that we liked before but haven’t had in a while:

  • BBQ chicken
  • lasagne
  • fish cakes
  • thin crust pizza
  • plain couscous
  • sweet potato chips
  • sugar snaps for the salad
  • a variety of fruits (e.g. having the same fruit on Monday and Wednesday and then different options for Tuesday and Thursday)
  • more lemon in the lemon cake

It was a busy lunchtime because during our meeting, Councillor Roca, who was touring the school with Miss Coleman, came to meet us as well!

We enjoyed sharing the opinions of our classmates with Eric and hope that it has helped him to design the new menu!
