Today Class 4 visited Queen’s College for a science workshop on sound, which is our current science topic.
We had great fun making paper-cup phones and learning all about how sound travels – sound waves move through the air when a vibration is made.
We had fun exploring the sounds that different animals make and made our own ‘dolphin whistles’! We also learnt that different animals can hear different frequencies of sounds and tested to see which sounds we could and could not hear.
Finally, we had the opportunity to see what sound waves look like. The staff at Queen’s College demonstrated using flames, which we found very exciting!
A big thank you to all adults that attended the trip with us and also to Queen’s College for welcoming us and preparing a very enjoyable workshop!
