This week Year 4 got busy with bugs in Science!
We learnt all about invertebrates-a special word to call animals who do not have bones inside of their bodies.
Many invertebrates are insects and have other types of protection to help keep themselves safe!
The class watched some videos about invertebrates animals and their types: annelids such as worms, molluscs such as muscles and arthropods such as spiders…although the spiders were quite scary.
We then used our knowledge of classification keys from last week to group different types of invertebrates in a book bug hunt! It was lots of fun cutting and sticking the insects into our book, and describing their types using the features on the key.
Do you know any interesting invertebrates? What type of invertebrate group do they belong to?
I like science a lot!!
Alligators and crocodiles are both a reptile.
