As part of our topic on seasons, Reception have been using their senses to discover the world around them.
We have been looking at the way that snails and slugs move, comparing them and putting black paper underneath to watch the slimy trail they leave behind.
We have grown some cress and watched it grow in just a few days.
We have also planted sunflowers and talked about all the things that plants need to grow.
Today, we talked about how the stem sucks up water and nutrients to help the plant grow.
To see this in action, we have set up an experiment using celery and food dye.
We predict that the celery will suck up the coloured water and the celery stalks will turn blue and red!
