To everyone connected with the life of Saint Vincent’s …
As we face another month of virtual lockdown I thought it would be a good opportunity to write to everyone who is part of the Saint Vincent’s family to say that, despite the restrictions placed on all of us, Saint James’s is still very much open for business and that we continue to pray for you all on a daily basis.
The church building is open every day from Midday to 5pm and I would like encourage you to use Saint James’s for your own devotions. When you are passing, do feel free to look in and (suitably socially distanced!) to light a candle and say a prayer. Making a “visit” to a church with their parents or carers is an especially formative experience for our children.
Although public Masses cannot be celebrated during this period of semi-lockdown, each of the priests will be offering their daily Masses and the cycle of intercession continues. In addition, we now (through a very generous donation) have the ability to stream services. Beginning from this Monday (9th November) we shall be streaming a Mass at 6pm (Monday-Saturday) and at 10.30am on Sundays. Do join us when you can – look up the Saint James’s site on YouTube
Again, although we are not able to meet in groups at this time, the rectory door is always open to those with any concerns. or who need to talk on a one-to-one basis. If your priests can help you and your families in any way during these stressful days, please do not hesitate to make contact.
Wishing God’s blessing on you all as we look ahead to the preparations for a blessed Christmas.
Christopher Colven
Thank you very much to let us know that the church is still open. If I pass the Church again, I’ll be sure to “visit” it.
Thank you very much about telling us what is happening in the church. I will try to come and pray at the church, as it is still open.
Thank you!
Thank you for telling us that the church is open. I will drop by soon.
