This week we are celebrating World Week! This is a themed week where we celebrate the world that we live in. We think about how we connect with others and celebrate the different places we are from.

We began the week by engaging in lots of Spiritual activities linked to the the world God created. Each key stage participated in a range of different activities linked to Bible scripture.

God looked at everything he had made and was very pleased. Genesis 1:31

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well

Psalm 139:14

Long ago, when things began, God made our world. He made the sun to light the day. He made the moon and stars for the night. He made the sky, land, and sea. He made birds to fly in the sky, fish to swim in the sea, and animals for the land.

Genesis 1:31

Psalm 121:1-2

I lift my eyes up to the mountains, where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth

Corinthians 14:10

‘There are doubtless many different languages in the world, and none is without meaning’

Romans 12:6

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith.

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.

Activities included making a collage, painting pictures of the creation story, making paper people and demonstrating thinking skills and independence by answering the big question, ‘What does it mean to be one of God’s children?’

The children also had the opportunity to think about how we can be stewards of the environment. They looked at Bible scripture, such as Isaiah 24:4-6 which highlights God’s message of why we should look after the Earth. We discussed our talents and gifts that God has given us and celebrated our differences and similarities.
