Year 5 attended an exciting screen-printing workshop at the Wallace Collection today. The day started off with a story by our guide, Caroline, about King Louis XV’s dream about a wren. Then we proceeded to explore several rooms and draw pictures that were either of objects on display, aspects of furniture or paintings that caught our fancy. We had to draw the outline of the picture instead of the finer details as we would later use use these as stencils. After lunch, we completed creating our stencils and focussed on their arrangement on our paper. We were then shown by Caroline how to screen-print. We had a lot of fun creating silk screen prints on paper and fabric.
Thank you to our lovely parent volunteers for helping us on this trip.
