Today we were privileged to be visited by The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster, Hamza Taouzza who came and led us in an inspirational assembly.
The Lord Mayor told us about his journey so far. He grew up locally and attended nearby schools before going to University. He told us about his interest and involvement in the local community and how he joined the Westminster Youth Council before being elected to be a councillor . He is the youngest ever councillor to be elected to the City.
We tried to guess the Lord Mayor’s age-he is twenty three and became The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Westminster when he was twenty two! Although this seems old to us he explained that he is the youngest Lord Mayor of Westminster to be elected!
Thank you so much for coming to visit us. We a were really inspired and hope we can grow up to be citizens who make a positive difference to our communities.
