Another fantastic day for Year 6 at Sayers Croft. Today we had to use all our Building Learning Power skills of resilience, resourcefulness, reciprocity and reflectiveness to complete a range of team and individual challenges.First we worked in teams to build ballistas, an ancient Roman type of catapult. It wasn’t as easy as it looked and we had to be very resilient when our ballistas didn’t work. Once our ballistas were finally operational, we challenged each other to a huge battle using wet sponges! We also had to co-operate and support each other in our next activity, the climbing wall. In the afternoon, we completed a team obstacle course, which required all of us to communicate and work out problems as a team.Tackling the brand-new high ropes course was a challenge but we persevered in spite of some very tricky obstacles, encouraging each other to complete the activity with a final zip-wire. Our adventurous day ended with a pyjama disco where we demonstrated our funky moves! It’s our last day tomorrow-we can’t believe how quickly the week has gone.
