Today, Year 6 took part in the Tri-Borough Christmas Festival at Kensington Town Hall with lots of other children from sixteen different Schools.

They had been practicing for weeks, at school and at home, to learn their parts for four Christmas songs which were especially arranged by the composer Sally Grieves and accompanied by an orchestra from the Royal College of Music.

A special ‘Well done’ to RDC from Year 6 who was chosen to read out his winning poem:

Music can be loud,

Like thunder in my head.

Music can be soft,

That draws me to my bed.

Music to me is wonderful.

Music to me is strong.

Music makes me feel like nothing is wrong.

A song was heard at Christmas,

To wake the midnight sky.

A saviour’s birth and peace on Earth,

And praise to God on high.

There were lots of proud  parents and carers in the audience as well as many V.I.P.s including Miss Carruthers!

Well done, Year 6. You represented the school so well. We are very proud of you.

There will  be a film of the event and more photos available on the Tri-Borough Music Hub website  in the new year.
