On Tuesday, Nursery had their very first big trip! We visited the Sea Life London Aquarium as part of our ‘Under the Sea’ topic. We were able to see all of the creatures and plants we have been learning this half term with our very own eyes!
After we got ready at school with our bags and yellow jackets we set off on our trip! We first had to walk to Baker Street to get on the bus to the aquarium. We drove past lots of lovely London sites on the way! We saw the lions at Trafalgar Square, the horses near where the prime minister lives, Big Ben and the London Eye. We were lucky to be travelling on such a clear day, our very own class tour of central London was a special way to start our day!
When we entered the aquarium, it was quite dark, but that only made the glowing tanks and incredible sea creatures even more fascinating. The children loved spotting and identifying different species, such as stingrays, blowfish, clownfish (like Nemo!), turtles, and sharks. They were especially amazed by the glowing jellyfish, the rough texture of a shark, and how different fish lived together in their tanks. The vibrant coral reef and playful penguins were also big highlights of the trip. All of the different aquarium enclosures were so pretty as well, with lots of coral, lights and interesting sounds.
We had an amazing time at the London Aquarium! It was a fantastic trip that all the children thoroughly enjoyed. A big thank you to the parents who were able to join and support us—it made the experience even more special. Thank you to the SVPA for funding our trip.
That looked like so much fun! I’m sad I missed it. It must have been really interesting seeing all of those different kinds of sea creatures. It looks like you were behaving very well on the bus. I’m proud of you. I can’t wait to see you all very soon.
