Understanding of the World in Reception

This week we learnt about where people in our community work as part of our ‘My Community’ topic.

To begin with, we identified some special people in our community such as priests, teachers, the police, shopping assistants and lollypop people help us. We looked at the different places they work and thought about why their work in our community is important. 

For our activity, we cut out each key member of our community and matched them with the place where they work.

It was a great opportunity to practice our cutting and sticking skills.
