Every year, the WE Day concert brings together world-renowned speakers, A-list performers, and tens of thousands of young people to celebrate a year of action that has transformed communities and changed lives. St Vincent’s were lucky enough to be given a limited number of tickets to this amazing event in recognition of all the work that our School does to help others. Since September, among other projects, we have collected food for a local food-bank, raised money for St Mungo’s charity by carol singing, helped our school community to reduce the amount of energy we use at home and school by holding a ‘Switch-Off Fortnight’ and raised £2,000 for CAFOD’s refugee appeal with our ‘Just Sing’ sponsored event.
Members of Years 5 and 6 Green Team, School Council and Pupil Chaplains attended the concert as they have sacrificed many break-times to help other people. We had a fantastic time and couldn’t decide whether the best part was seeing amazing acts like Jessie J, Conor Maynard and the Vamps perform live; hearing inspirational speakers like Francesca Brown, Muzoon Al-Mellehan, Spencer West and Kate Winslet; or just screaming very loudly, jumping up and down and doing the WE Day dance!
