Welcome Everyone to Nursery!

Nursery have had a very fun and busy week in their first week of Nursery! Miss Pycroft is so impressed with how everyone is settling into Nursery, and how nice it has been seeing everyone explore all of the indoor and outdoor toys with new friends!

The first thing we did was create our class charter- this is where we talk about what we would like our class to look and sound like. In Nursery we have four golden rules:

1. We listen

2. We are gentle

3. We are kind

4. We look after property

We have been talking about these rules and going over them every day. We talk about what they mean and how we can show them in the class. We have been working especially hard on practising our listening and being kind to our classmates in this last week. To show that we are all part of nursery we colours our handprints to stick on our class charter.

We also had our first Religious education lesson, where we talked about our topic for the time which is ‘Myself’. We talked about how God knows us and loves us all. He even knows our name! To celebrate this we glittered all of our names to hang on our display board.

On top of this we have also started our topic for the term, which is ‘All About Me’. We talked about our facial and body features, and how we are all different and unique, which is such special thing! To celebrate this we created little versions of ourselves by painting out skin colour arms and legs, our school uniform and then finding our face to match to our body.

If this wasn’t enough we have also had our first few PE lessons, attended our first assemblies, been to music and singing, and so much more. No wonder we are exhausted at the end of the day! I can’t wait for an amazing year with Nursery!
