Welcome to Reception!
We have had a great start to the term and have been settling into our new environment. Welcome to the new children starting at St Vincent’s this year, it has been lovely to see new friendships form over the last two weeks.
We have been getting involved in lots of activities in Reception. We have been doing lots of drawing, painting, cutting, sticking, counting and lots more! As our topic is ‘All about me’ we have been practising writing our names and talking about the importance of our name and how special our families are to us.
This week we have started our phonics and guided reading, I am impressed at the children’s ability to sound out their words. We have been having fun practising our letter formation using ‘Busy Things’ and using the Jolly Phonics actions too.
