Today, someone from Westminster came to teach us all about walking safely when we are walking on the pavement and crossing the roads. These are the main things we learnt:
- Always check when crossing a road, even if there is a green man, in case a car is coming.
- At a zebra crossing, you have to stop and look both ways to check it is safe to cross.
- If the car has a flashing orange light on the side, it is going to turn into a road.
- Sometimes drivers are friendly and flash white lights and then they’ll stop to let you cross the road.
- Traffic lights are at a pelican or puffin crossing.
- The lights next to the zebra crossing help the drivers to know that there is a zebra crossing and so they should slow down.
Thank you to the Travel Ambassadors who helped us with crossing the road, and to all the parents for their support too.
