Year 1 loved exploring World Week this week in so many different ways!
On Monday we had Spirituality Day, where we did different activities to help connect us to God. We wrote prayers, asked big questions about the world and drew what we thought a perfect world might look like.
On Tuesday, it was Safer Internet Day, which started off with an assembly from Miss Carruthers about online safety. We then read a story in class called The Magic Window and talked about who we would talk to if we saw something online that we didn’t like.
On Wednesday it was Children’s Mental Health Day. We read another story called Invisible Strings and discussed how we are all connected to different people we love through our hearts. We drew who we were connected to through our own invisible strings.
On Thursday we wrote cards to different people who live in an old persons home near by to reach out to others. The children loved asking questions and telling them a little about themselves. We decorated the cards beautifully as well.
Lastly today was our special cultural assembly- it was so nice to see all the different cultures represented in our class and in the whole school. In class we talked about how we are all unique and special, but also how people are all similar in many ways.
What a fun week! I hope you all have a lovely half term break and I look forward to seeing you when we come back.
I think you had some fun year1
