Before the half term break year 2 had a wonderful trip to St. James’ Church in Marylebone! We were excited to meet Fr. Philip and learn all about the sacrament of Baptism. Fr. Philip gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the church, explaining the special parts of the building that are used during a Baptism ceremony. We saw the beautiful baptismal font where babies are baptized, and Fr. Philip explained how water is used to symbolize new life in Christ.

During our visit, we also learned about the important symbols in Baptism, such as the white garment, the candle, and the oil. Fr. Philip told us how each one has a special meaning. The white garment represents being pure and clean, the candle symbolizes the light of Christ, and the oil reminds us of God’s protection and blessing.

We even had the chance to ask Fr. Philip lots of interesting questions! It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about Baptisms in a fun and interactive way. Thank you to Fr. Philip for such a special visit. Thanks to the parent volunteers who joined us on the day and made everything possible.
