Year 4 has been studying Roman arts and entertainment. We learned all about mosaics –how they are created and what they depict. The students got a taste of the effort it took to create these masterpieces by making mosaics of their own. They created beautiful and colourful designs. We then visited the London Amphitheatre, where crowds of people would gather to watch gladiators battle against one another and ferocious animals. The students saw the remains of this ancient building, along with a skull of an ancient Roman that was found during the excavation!
