Year 4 enjoyed their time exploring the October Gallery today. We visited an exhibition which was filled with interesting sculptures. First, we had little pictures and we had to match them to the art around the room. Then, we discussed where in the world they came from and looked at the differences between African sculptures in the museum to Roman sculptures.
We had to work in teams to create our own sculptures using plastic bottles. Some of us made Roman soldiers or Gods, and others made African models. Have a look at them in the pictures below. Everyone worked well as a team and our final sculptures looked great!
Finally we made clay tiles and used tools to make patterns and imprints in the clay. We loved our morning there and enjoyed doing all the activities.
