Assistant Headteacher for the day!

Today I was the Headteacher Assistant for the day. When I came in, I felt nervous and excited but it was okay. Afterwards, I went to the door and welcomed everyone inside by giving them hand gel and saying good morning. It was really fun!

Later on, I did an assembly. My audience was huge but I nailed it. I chose the song ‘This little light of mine’ because I knew everyone loved that song. The rule that I decided was to respect and protect all school property in the best possible way, because if you respect or protect something in your house you should do the same in school. Our father was the prayer that I chose to end our assembly. I chose this prayer because it’s my favourite.

Next I visited each class to see the learning around the school. I really liked going around the classes, everyone understood what they were doing and enjoyed their lesson. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 did RE, which is really good because it brings the children closer to God.

At 11:30 I went to the office to purchase some resources for the school. I had a £50 budget, so I decided to order some wet play games and two things for Nursery and Reception. Then I went to the lunch hall to check on behaviour and manners of the children in key stage 1. Everybody was amazing!

After all these things, I finally had lunch and play with my friends. Then I went to all the teachers to give them feedback from their lesson, they were pleased. Now I’m writing this newsletter to tell you all about my day! I’m really looking forward to giving out the sun stickers!

Today was a very fun experience being an Assistant Headteacher!! I’d love to do this again!
