Child Initiated Play – Police Officers!

In Early Years we have lots of great new STEM equippment and role play costumes for the children to engage with. Everyone is really enjoying building and creating shapes and models with the new resources. 

Reception have become really interested in building cars with all of our new crates, and real tyres! This then became a whole class activity, where the children put on Police costumes and became St Vincent’s new Officers! 

It was fantastic to see how the children created a whole class game, and were encouraging their peers to join in the fun – the Police cars even had emergancy sirens! (Spot the blue cones?) 

The class had a great time creating their own cars and taking on the roles of Police Officers, Traffic Wardens, and Engineers.
