This week was a very exciting week at school! It was Enterprise Week.
Our class worked together to create a product to sell to the other classes.
On Monday, we came up with a name and logo for our company. We called ourselves ‘Keyrings For Kids’ and our logo was a beautiful star. This design won because it was the most popular one when we voted.
On Tuesday, Reception had lots of fun making posters to advertise our key rings and filming an advert for Wednesday’s assembly. In our advert we tried to convince the other classes to buy our product and told them what was so great about our keyrings. We really enjoyed singing our own version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and acting out the different scenes.
On Wednesday, we began making our keyrings. In the morning, we had some special visitors. Remo’s daddy came to tell us about his job which helps people bring intelligent ideas to life. His job helps people like builders, pilots and even a football team! Feodora’s daddy also told us about his job in the City of London. We shared that his job was kind of like being a pirate. He and his friends work together on computers to find treasures for people all over the world! Then, we painted our wooden star keyrings bright yellow on both sides ready to decorate the next day! On Wednesday we also got to watch everyone’s adverts and place our orders for what we wanted to buy from the other classes. All of the products were priced at £1 and everyone brought in £3 which meant we could buy 3 things!
On Thursday, lots of our mummies and daddies came to visit us in class and help us to make our keyrings. Everyone worked together to decorate the stars with gems, add a keyring clasp and some ribbon onto it. It was so lovely to welcome them into our classroom and spend time together making our product.
On Friday, we received everything we had bought! Children from all of the other classes brought us their products and the money for items they bought from us. It was so exciting to receive all of the wonderful products!
Throughout the week we also did lots of number work such as recognising coins, working out how much items cost and number formation.
Thank you to all of the parent speakers and parent helpers who came to support us this week. We really appreciate your help!
