Pentecost!

In Reception we have been learning all about the special time of Pentecost! 
We have learnt all about how the Diciples were visited by the Holy Spirit, who appeared to them as wind and a flame of each of their heads.

This visit gave them the power to speak all different languages and travel the world to spread the word of God. 

Everyone decorated their own flame, and sat together as the Diciples, thinking about how the Diciples would feel to see flames on their head. Everyone said that they would have been very surprised and shocked!

Each child was able to retell the special story of Pentecost, and here are some examples: 

“Jesus had to go back to Heaven. Jesus friends were sad, so the Holy Spirit came as wind and fire.” 

“Jesus sent the Holy Spirit, he came as flames on their heads.”

“The Holy Spirit was special and Jesus sent the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit came as fire!”

“Jesus told the Diciples to go all over the world for him. They started to speak different languages because of the Holy Spirit.”
