To continue our ‘Good News’ topic in Religious Education, this week we listened to the story of Pentecost.
After Jesus had gone back to his Father in heaven, his friends were sad. They missed him. They felt lonely and afraid without him. On Pentecost day, they were all together in the house.
They began to feel different. Joy and happiness filled their hearts. It was wonderful! They knew that Jesus had kept his promise to send a new friend, the Holy Spirit.
After listening to the story, we talked about how Jesus’ friends would have felt during the coming of the Holy Spirit and tried hard to explain our ideas.
We made our own flame collages to represent the Holy Spirit and chose a word to write to describe how Jesus’ friends felt. We added them each to our special ‘Good News’ display.
We loved making our flame collages for the coming of the holy spirit. We used the words kind and loved to describe how Jesus’ friends felt.
To make my flame I used tissue paper, afterwards Miss O’Connell put glitter on to make it sparkle. I loved making mine. It was so much fun. In the story Jesus went to his father in heaven but His friends missed Him so Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit. I loved learning about this.
I loved making the flames, it was so much fun! I chose the word “loved”.
