After weeks of learning and preparation, today was the day we sold our chutney!
Y3, Y4 and Y5 members of Green Team took all the wonderful chutney that Green Team and Year 2 had made together to Whole Foods Market in High Street Kensington. We were given a table in the shop and tasked with selling as much chutney as possible to the people shopping.
We first had to set up our table so that as many people as possible could see what we were selling. We decided to open some of the smaller jars and offer people tasters to try and encourage them to buy the chutney! Then we had to decide on the price. Simon, who works in Whole Foods, helped us by giving us some information about the prices of similar items in the shop and we agreed on selling a jar for £6 but having a special offer of £10 if you buy two. We also had two larger jars which we agreed would be sold for £7.
Green Team worked fabulously as a sales team. They each took it in turns to have different roles – some people floated around the shop, encouraging people to try our tasters, others were at the table to offer the tasters and try and close the sale!
The children all worked tirelessly and we sold out of all the chutney that we had brought! We’re waiting to hear from Rachel how much money we took in in total so that we can then work out our profit. When Y2 went to the farm, they spent £53 to buy all the rhubarb and strawberries so we’re hoping that we’ve managed to make a profit!
Well done hope you made lots of money 😁
